Miami's Shakima Wimbley Makes History at ACC Outdoor Championships

Shakima Wimbley Win's Eighth ACC 200-Meter Title

On the final day of the ACC Outdoor Championships, Miami senior Shakima Wimbley crossed the finish line in the 200 meters in first place.

It was the eighth time Wimbley won the 200 meters at an ACC Championships, indoors and outdoors. According to a Miami release, she is the first to have accomplished such a feat. Her time was 22.54.

In addition to running the 200 meters, Wimbley ran in three other events. She won the 400 meters for the fourth time, running a personal best and meet record 50.40. She leads the NCAA in that event.

Wimbley also ran on the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Miami won both in 43.36 and 3:29.99, respectively. Both were meet and conference records.
